2025 Season Ready To Go

The 2025 SWBL season opens up on Tuesday, May 20th with the Virden Oilers hosting the Reston Rockets. Both the Oilers and the Rockets will compete in the North Division this season, alongside the Hamiota Red Sox, Rivers Comets, Oak River Dodgers, and the Brandon Young Guns.
The South Division will comprise of 5 teams: the Boissevain Centennials, Deloraine Royals, Souris Cardinals, Wawanesa Brewers, and Brandon Cardinals.
The league loses the Elkhorn Expos this season, but sees the return of Souris for the first time since 2020, as well as the addition of the two Brandon squads.
All teams will play a home-and-home against each divisional opponent, plus one game against each of the other division's teams, culminating in a 15-game regular season for teams in the North and a 14-game regular season for teams in the South. The top 4 teams from each division will make the playoffs, with no crossover. Playoffs will see a best-of-3 first round, followed by best-of-5s for the semi-final and final.
Provincially, the SWBL will send three representatives to the the Provinical AA Championships in Winnipeg from August 8-10. The two divisions winners will earn automatic berths, with the third going to the second place team with the best record in the regular season. The three teams who miss the playoffs will be given first chance at attending the Provincial A Championships, held in Carberry July 18-20. If more than one team is interested, a playoff will be played.
